We would like to inform you about our long-standing successful partnership with RR Kommunal . For over a decade, the Thies CLIMA Laser Precipitation Monit (LPM) has been providing data for monitoring and controlling the Austrian highway and expressway network (ASFINAG) . The device provides precise data on the type and intensity of precipitation.

Atacama Desert: On the trail of fog trapping and the air plant.

For over eight years, Thies CLIMA weather stations have been operating in the Atacama Desert to investigate fog as a sustainable source of water as part of a German-Chilean research project. The extremely dry region in northern Chile, with less than 1 mm of rain per year, places high demands on the measurement technology. Nevertheless, our technology delivers precise data under the most adverse conditions, such as salty air and extreme temperature fluctuations.

The Thies Ultrasonic 3D wind measurement instrument crowns the top of Merdeka PNB 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With a height of almost 700 meters, the building towers over the skyline as an imposing landmark. The high-precision ultrasonic anemometer records the wind in all three axes, including upward movements. With two devices, one for redundancy, the focus is on maximum accuracy and reliability.

10 years of partnership between ÖBB and Thies CLIMA: A look back at precision and reliability!

January, 2024 - Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and Thies CLIMA celebrate 10 years of successful partnership. Together, they have expanded ÖBB-Infrastruktur AGʻs meteorological measuring network with 33 automatic weather stations, with the latest station being installed at the Semmering Wolfsbergkogel site. The basic weather stations from Thies CLIMA have been helping to detect natural hazards along the rail network at an early stage since 2013. The close cooperation ensures the precision, reliability and robustness of the weather data. The partnership emphasizes the business principle of both companies: long-term, safe planning and reliable partnership.
